How to make Grok Bot draft emails for approval

By Robby Thurston ·

Quick answer

The Grok Bot changelog says your Bot can write an email or Slack message as a draft for you to review, then Send or Discard it. Outlook drafts work the same way.

Keep drafts on for any household bot that writes to teachers, coaches, or co-parents.

Steps

  1. Tell the bot: "Draft replies but never send them without my approval."
  2. Add the same rule as a permission in Settings, in plain language.
  3. When a draft card appears, read it, then choose Send or Discard.

One setting to avoid

The changelog (v0.64.0) says draft cards offer Disable drafts for this Bot, so that Bot sends messages directly. For family messages, leave drafts on.

Frequently asked questions

Can I turn drafts back on?

Yes. The changelog says you can ask the Bot to turn drafts back on.
