How to pause and resume a Grok Bot routine

By Robby Thurston ·

Quick answer

The Grok Bot changelog (v0.52.0) says you can pause a routine and resume it later, and v0.68.0 adds Pause, Resume, Test, Edit, and Delete when you right-click a routine in the details pane.

Pausing is the easy way to stop school routines over a break without rewriting them.

Steps

  1. Open the Bot that owns the routine.
  2. In the details pane, right-click the routine.
  3. Choose Pause. Choose Resume when the break ends.
  4. Or just ask the Bot in chat: "Pause the school sweep until January 5."

Good times to pause

The changelog also says pausing or deleting a routine cancels runs that were waiting, and that a notice tells you when routines were paused while you were away.

Frequently asked questions

Does a paused routine use usage?

A paused routine doesn't run, so it doesn't spend usage on runs.

Can I delete a routine instead?

Yes. The changelog says deleting a routine also stops its future runs.
