PLR vs MRR vs Resell Rights: What's the Difference?

PLR, MRR, and resell rights compared in plain English, so you know what you can do with digital products to resell.

Resell rights

You may sell the product to end customers. Your customers usually can't resell it.

Master resale rights (MRR)

Often the same as resell rights plus permission to pass resale rights on. Terms vary: our MRR license lets you resell, bundle, and rebrand, but not pass resale rights on.

Private label rights (PLR)

Usually the most freedom: rewrite, put your name on it as the author, and sell. Some PLR forbids reselling the rights.

Which should you choose?

If you want a finished, current product to sell quickly under your brand, MRR with rebranding allowed is a practical middle ground. If you want to rewrite everything, PLR fits. Either way, read the license.
