Gmail labels that mirror your Drive

By Robby Thurston ·

Quick answer

Email is where most household paperwork arrives: order confirmations, insurance renewals, DMV notices, school forms. Gmail's own labels and filters do the first sort; Grok Bot does the reading.

Gmail Help explains how to create labels and filter rules. Grok Bot's Gmail connector can search mail, and per the changelog can write drafts for your approval, search Spam, and send from a verified send-as address.

What's possible

Why it matters

Labels make the bot's job smaller and more reliable, and they make your own searches faster too.

The setup, in short

The Google Home Base Setup guide covers:

The house rule in every Butler guide: the bot reads, sorts, files, tracks, and drafts. It asks first before it sends, pays, deletes, or contacts anyone, and it never guesses a date or an amount.

Frequently asked questions

Will the bot send emails on its own?

Drafts wait for you by default. The changelog says a draft card offers 'Disable drafts for this Bot'; for family mail we recommend leaving drafts on.

Can it use two Gmail accounts?

Yes. Grok Bot 101 says you can connect multiple accounts per service.

Can the bot get its own address?

Yes. Changelog v0.70.2: bots can claim their own email address; mail they send waits for your approval.

Sources

Grok Bot claims are sourced from official x.ai pages; device and service claims from each vendor's or agency's own pages. Checked October 15, 2026.
