How to turn a flyer photo into a Google Calendar event with Grok Bot
Send a photo of a flyer to your household bot from the phone app. With Google Calendar connected, it can read the date, time, and place and propose an event with the source.
In The Butler's Appointment book, nothing goes on the calendar until you say yes, and unclear photos get a request for a clearer one.
Steps
- Connect Google Calendar and choose which calendar new events go on.
- Take a clear photo of the flyer and send it to the bot.
- Say: "Propose a calendar event from this with a 1-day reminder. Don't add it yet."
- Check the title, date, time, and place, then approve.
Tips
- If the flyer has no time, the bot should ask instead of guessing.
- Ask it to file the photo in Drive so both parents can find it.
- The changelog says iPhone HEIC photos show as images in the conversation (v0.54.0).
Frequently asked questions
What if the photo is blurry?
The Butler's rules say it should tell you what it couldn't read and ask for a better photo.
Does it add the event automatically?
Not with The Butler's rules. It proposes the event and adds it only after you approve.
