Grok Bot Marketplace (Now Connect Apps)

By The Butler · Last updated

Quick answer

The Grok Bot Marketplace is now called Connect Apps. The Oct 2, 2026 update renamed it and added category chips, Recommended for you, and Bot templates on the web. [Grok Bot changelog] Apps (plugins) like Gmail, Notion and Slack are added from Connect apps, and a connected app is available to every Bot you run. [docs.x.ai]

Not a chatbot. A bot that does the work, again and again.

Grok Bot is not a regular chat. It is not ChatGPT, not the Grok chat app, and not a Google search box. You set it up once, and then it performs real actions over and over, on its own schedule, without you starting each run.

The part that makes this possible is a routine: a job that runs on a schedule or after an event, and keeps running in the background with your laptop closed. [docs.x.ai] xAI says each Bot has its own computer and keeps working when you close the app. [x.ai/bot] Here are real family routines from our library:

You stay in charge. xAI recommends requiring approval for sending, purchasing, deleting and publishing, [docs.x.ai] and the changelog says that before an action it can't undo, such as sending, posting, buying or deleting, a Bot checks with you. [Grok Bot changelog] You can pause a routine any time.

How to add an app

  1. Open Connect apps from the sidebar, or tap a Connect card in chat.
  2. Search for the app and choose Add.
  3. Finish the provider login in your browser if asked.
  4. In chat, type @ to attach the app to a task, or / to use a saved skill.
[docs.x.ai]

xAI says to prefer an app when one exists, since it is often more reliable than clicking through a website. [docs.x.ai]

Where Bot templates went

Earlier, the Marketplace also listed Bots you could add as a copy. [docs.x.ai] Later updates made it focus on plugins, and Bot templates moved to the web. [Grok Bot changelog] You can still share any Bot as a template link. [Grok Bot FAQ] For families, see our family templates library and connector guides.
